Delicious sweet dough fried till crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Delicately sweetened, these little treats won’t last long. Rolled in sugar for a simple yet satisfying treat for your sweet tooth!

Sweet Dough
1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup caster sugar
180ml Laban (buttermilk)
Canola oil to fry
Caster sugar to roll in
Mix flour, baking powder, salt and sugar together. Add Laban and form into a soft dough.
Divide in half and roll first half out on a floured surface. Keep it thick (remember they will puff as they fry). Roll dough to approximately just under 1cm thick. Using cookie cutters cut into desired shapes.
Repeat with remaining dough. Heat oil on medium heat. When oil is hot, drop dough in and cook till nice and golden.
Remove from oil onto paper towel lined plate. Give them 2 minutes before rolling in caster sugar. Set aside to cool down.
Perfect accompaniment to tea or coffee!
