If a churro and banana bread had a baby, this is what it would taste like! All the deliciousness of banana bread combined with the delicious spices of a churro! Perfect any time of day! Enjoyed best with cinnamon butter and mint tea!
Banana Churro Bread
1/3 cup butter (76g)
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 ripe bananas mashed
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup milk
Topping:
1 whole banana sliced lengthwise
Cinnamon sugar (3 tablespoons sugar mixed with 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder)
In a bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Set aside.
In another bowl beat butter and sugar till light and fluffy. Then add egg and vanilla and mix again till well combined. Finally add banana and mix again.
Slowly alternate adding flour mixture and milk, starting and ending with flour, to make batter.
Pour batter in greased loaf tin. Place half sliced banana on top of loaf. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
Bake for 40 minutes at 180°c till cooked through.
Serve hot with Cinnamon Butter and mint tea.
Cinnamon Butter
1/2 cup butter
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
Add ingredients to bowl and mix together till well incorporated. Serve on Banana Churro Bread.
